Having just done 36 hours in Dublin last month myself, I'm dismayed at your short haul flight. Admittedly the combined 16 hour drive-ferry-drive was not an enjoyable way to travel. I suppose you can just do things.
We went for a Bohs vs Bohs friendly at Dalymount but a drab 0-0 meant the highlight was a visit to Henrietta St museum, a companion to the tenement house in Glasgow but older.
Nice photos and interesting text, Neil. It's bee a long while since I went to Dublin - always on business but we did schedule extra time to allow for a few 'sessions', walkabouts and a trip to the Guinness brewery. We stayed at / in the vicinity of the Temple Bar Hotel. A lovely place and great folk. I must get back there one day.....
I suspected as much. It was always just a little bit cheaper than the more 'up-market' places and, consequently, was a magnet for weddings, hen / stag parties, sports fans. At the time I was going there, there were loads of "boxty houses" nearby in which you could get some very nice / filling and 'reasonably' priced grub.
Trinity College renaming suggestions: brilliant. And I really enjoyed this article. Trying to think of a “you can just do things” pun but failing. Maybe I should ask AI?

Nice! Will add those to the map.
I did the coach-ferry-coach to Belfast, which was ok but time was against me this time.
now let's see if i remember correctly: in the last photo, is that malahide castle?
Ardgillan!
oh, the one with the bear at the entrance, i remember now. and some hats on deer antlers
By the way, I did see a guy shooting some Hurling (?) and wondered for a moment if it was you.
no, sorry to disappoint!

Thanks. Temple Bar is amazing at concentrating all the tourists in one area. Impressive really.
