Thanks for this. Love the Greenock run-down! And thanks for the mention. I’d forgotten about that article. There’s also Arrivals and Sailings: The Making of George Wyllie, published by Birlinn in 2016 (the year of the moment!). I wrote it with George’s daughter, Louise.

My pleasure! Funnily enough, I got your book out from the library but didn’t quite have time to fully digest it for this. Fascinating character and great to know the expert!

Sorry dear Neil, I’m no expert as I tell myself ALL the time!

This is a fascinating article Neil. I've never heard of Greenrock so thanks for the introduction. It looks pretty remote. Great photos by the way and congratulations on the feature on the local media.

Thanks Xavi! It is an hour up the river from Glasgow ... maybe the equivalent of Hastings from Brighton?

Ah ok, good comparison! looks like a great place to photograph. Oh, the Jonathan Meades film is incredible, what a production, love his creativity and the way he explains things, thanks so much for the recommendation!

Ahhhh, my pleasure. Endless joy from Meades ... alas, he stopped making TV and only does 1000 page novels now.

I think there are a few pieces in Tate Modern but it is not all that visible. Very curious to learn more about the time it came to Glasgow.
